And Then There Were None…

September 16th, 2009 · 4 Comments · Latest News & Litters

Ginger-September-2009-009 Mohr Bouviers is proud to welcome Brenda and Dick from Greensboro, NC to the Mohr Bouvier Family. Our little Petunia is now a Southern Belle.

About a month ago Brenda saw our description of Petunia on our website and thought she would be a perfect fit for their family. Brenda and Dick have faced some very difficult and sad times over the past two years which included losing their faithful Bouvier, Valentine. Nothing helps heal a broken heart quite like a Bouvier with those soulful eyes that seem to understand without any words required. After several conversations and emails the only decision to be made was how to unite Petunia with her new family. The timing was perfect with Karl and me leaving for a long weekend visit with my Dad in Boone, NC. So with Petunia in the back seat off we headed for what turned out to be a very long drive but well worth it. Watching Petunia get to know her new family was filled with many emotions for all. But before too long it was time for Petunia to go home with her family and complete her journey to Greensboro.

Ginger-September-2009-015 We have talked to Brenda since our return to PA and Ginger aka Petunia is doing just fine. She is making herself right at home and found a nice cool spot (on top of the AC vent) to nap and watch all the activities. She has met her two dog sisters, Savannah, a Standard Party Poodle, and Keiko, a Chinese Crested, along with human family and friends. She has greeted everyone including the vet and his staff with a wagging tail which tends to wiggle her entire body!! Ginger is exploring her big yard and starting to play games of fetch along side her sister Savannah. And rumor has it there is a red Buick Reatta convertible with leather upholstery the same color as Ginger that will be used for adventures around town once Ginger is a little older. I can’t wait to see the pictures.

So if you find yourself in North Carolina and see a gorgeous fawn Bouvier sitting in a red convertible, it just might be Ginger doing her job of helping a family smile and heal!

And Then There Was One…

August 26th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Latest News & Litters

This past Sunday despite the warm, humid weather, Karl and I decided to get George and Petunia out and about at the Promenade in Saucon Valley. As we were walking we met a family who had just lost their five year old Bouvier. Anyone who has lost a beloved dog knows how difficult a time it can be. Although your dog can never be replaced there is nothing like a wiggling, fuzzy, kissing puppy to put a smile on your face. Which lead this family to open their home and hearts to George now known as Eddie.

We would like to welcome the entire Rossi Family to the Mohr Bouvier Family.  Eddie ’s new family is very diverse. We have Dr. Joe who is the founder of North Penn Vet Hospital located in Lansdale, PA, his wife Jill and their three children Joey, Alexa and Evan. Now the diversity comes with the four legged family members, several Norwich Terriers which Jill shows and breeds, an Irish Wolf Hound, Irish Sport Horses, cattle and sheep. I hope I did not miss anyone. Eddie’s life is going to not only be filled with lots of love but some very exciting adventures with all his new friends.

We look forward to hearing stories and seeing pictures of their newest family member.

Petunia-relaxing Petunia is still available and looking for her perfect home. But until that family finds her she has started with her housebreaking and gets to walk with the “Big Guys” in the morning and hang out with them all day. Houdini has taken her under his paw and is showing her the ropes of being a good farm dog.

If you know of anyone who would be a perfect match for Petunia please give them our phone number 610-285-4682 or they may contact us through our website.

And Then There Were Two…

August 14th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Latest News & Litters

As everyone knows, earlier in the spring Lola gave us five adorable puppies. We have found wonderful homes for three of her puppies but are still looking for the perfect homes for George and Petunia.

george-on-duty SOLD! – George is a very handsome boy with a working mind. If there is something new George is the one who checks it out. He loves learning and would make a fantastic addition to a family with children or for a family who has a farm. He likes to be in the thick of things and helping out. But don’t let that fool you, George also loves to cuddle and give lots of kisses.

Petunia-relaxing Petunia is our sensitive girl. She is a beautiful girl who loves to play quietly, snuggle and be by your side. Petunia would be perfect for a quiet family or a retired couple. Unlike George, Petunia feels working is really overrated. Petunia lives by the motto “why do work when you can sit back and watch!” Petunia loves to go for walks on her leash and meet new people.

If you know of anybody that would make a wonderful match for either George or Petunia please give them our name and number (610-285-4682) or they may contact us through our website.

Local Businesses & Services

August 7th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Latest News & Litters

We always enjoy sharing our resources. Here is a list of services with names and contact information. If you know of a service that should be included please let us know.

Grooming:

K-9 Design 610-489-2424

If you want your Bouvier groomed by someone who has specialized in the breed for 20+ years then give Karen a call. We have used Karen for too many years to mention and feel she is well worth the drive to Collegeville. I honestly think Karen could groom a Bouvier in Full Coat with her eyes closed she is that good!

Groomingdales 610-481-9577

Lisa has been grooming Bouviers for a number of years and is located in the Lehigh Valley. In fact, thanks to Lisa referring a friend to us, Nancy and Mike Koch have joined the Mohr Bouvier Family! Lisa has three Mohr Bouviers as her customers and does a wonderful job keeping them looking great and smelling sweet.

Supplements for a Healthy Dog:

Nancy Koch 610-481-9137

Nancy is the proud Mom of Heffala and Aunt to Gus both from our 2006 litter. But it is Nancy’s knowledge and passion for alternative ways of supporting a dog’s health that makes her a wonderful resource for supplements. Nancy’s first Bouvier Mandy had Lymes disease along with other health issues. Nancy’s devotion to helping Mandy live a long and happy life took her down a path of research and the result was finding the positive affects supplements could provide. We have used several of the supplements Nancy has recommended and have been amazed at the results.

Obedience Training:

Bill’s Dog Training 484-767-9847

Bill not only owns a Mohr Bouvier but he has trained quite a few and their owner’s. Bill has group classes along with private lessons when requested. Classes are from Beginner Class up to Advance Class. Although Bill won’t admit this he has an Advanced Bouvier Class. And yes other breeds are always welcome but it seems to end up being filled with Mohr Bouviers. Belle is usually in attendance to make sure her kids behave themselves and remember that she is “BOSS”!!

Paintings and Wild Life Art:

Bob McGee 610-966-1437 mcgeeart@ptd.net

Bob and his wife Carol are the proud owners of Moose. When Bob and Carol came to our farm to meet the puppies, Bob shared with us his love of art and animals. We are very anxious to see more of his work. Give Bob a call or email him if you are interested in having a painting of your Bouvier. I am confident he will be able to capture on canvas the true essence of your beloved Bouvier.

Draft Equipment:

Roy Martin 610-682-6445

Roy is a wood crafter by trade. He can make anything from a simple stool to and elaborate cabinet. Roy can also custom make a cart for your Bouvier to pull. If you don’t want to go the route of custom, Roy can also order a manufactured cart from his contacts. This is the individual Karl and I purchased Houdini’s cart that was featured in “Is That a Cart Behind That Bouvier?”

Mervin Martin 717-656-4792

If you have a cart for your Bouvier you will need a harness. We had Houdini’s harness made by Mervin. You will need to have Mervin see the cart and measure the dog to have a perfect fit. A harness can be made in either leather or nylon in a variety of colors.

Welcome to Our Family, New Puppy Owners!

July 28th, 2009 · 3 Comments · Latest News & Litters

We would like to welcome three families into the Mohr Bouvier Family.

Diane Keeler from Columbus, OH is the proud owner of Barrah. Diane flew in on Friday and flew back to OH with Barrah in her carrier under the airplane seat. We are happy to report both puppy and owner made it home safely and Barrah was introduced to her new family.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Bob and Carol McGee from Macungie, PA are the proud owners of Moose (aka Sammy). Moose went to his new home on Friday evening. We received a call from Bob on Saturday morning reporting that Moose was doing great and making friends with their other dog Mocha. We are looking forward to seeing Moose in obedience class this fall.

chloe-with-hedgehog Raymond and Sharon Fretz from Sellersville, PA are the proud owners of Chloe (aka Cutie Pie). Chloe went to her new home on Saturday morning. I checked in with the Fretzs on Sunday to see how the first day and night had gone. Chloe is making herself at home and doing her best to follow Sharon and Raymond around the house. She needs to keep track of them in case they need her. I explained to Raymond that Bouviers like to be with their owners so he and Sharon will never be lonely.

All three families are first time Bouvier Owners. I know they will find out for themselves what makes a Bouvier such special animal and companion. I have asked each family to send us pictures so they can be posted on our website. So if you find yourself in either Columbus, OH or Macungie or Sellersville, PA and you see a fawn Bouvier walking with their owner stop and say “hi”; it may very well be a Mohr Bouvier!!

Upcoming Event Brought to You by Mohr About Me (aka Lola)

May 5th, 2009 · 7 Comments · Latest News & Litters

Cuddling.jpg Spring is in the air, the flowers are blooming and leaves are opening in anticipation of hot summer days and a need for some shade. Our thoughts turn to cute, wiggly puppies. This spring Belle is taking a break from Motherhood and letting Lola try her paws at Motherhood.  The picture to the right is Lola (fawn color) with Belle and Smudge the Cat “cuddling” on top of Karl.

Lola has had a busy spring and should be welcoming her first litter of puppies around May 28th – May 30th. She has been handling the anticipation of Motherhood in stride. She continues to play “catch me if you can” with her brother’s Houdini and Jethro. And she had heard Karl and I discussing a vegetable garden and can’t wait to help herself to fresh tomatoes. Hopefully this year she will share them with the rest of us!

We will share more details as they develop. Pictures will follow when Lola decides to share her sweet, little creations with us later this month. So stay tuned!!!
